The escape stairs installed on the University of Vienna campus are enormous and can get up to 5,000 people out of lecture halls and classrooms in a very short time.

However, safety and size are not everything here. The architect entrusted with the project wanted a visually appealing solution with a uniformly aligned mesh pattern.

SOLUTION – MEASTEP XSL & INDIVIDUAL GRATES

This was achieved through the completely identical surfaces and uniform gratings of all steps and landings. A total of 1,300 MEASTEP XSL steps and 700 custom-made gratings for steps and platforms were installed.
