FH Campus Wien university of applied sciences in Vienna is a huge complex. The emergency stairways in place there must enable up to 5,000 people to be safely evacuated from the lecture theatres and classrooms in the shortest possible time. The MEASTEP XSL staircase system was chosen with this in mind. A total of 1,300 MEASTEP XSL steps and 700 custom-made gratings for the stairs and platforms were installed on the university campus.
The innovative MEASTEP XSL range of stairs, platforms and landings combines safety, stability and lightness. The newly designed supporting structure results in a clear, aesthetic appeal. The desire to create an aesthetically pleasing solution with a uniformly aligned mesh structure was a further reason why the architects responsible for FH Campus Wien selected MEASTEP XSL steps.
The name of our best-selling stair product says it all. XSL stands for three key characteristics:
The manufacturing process is in accordance with DIN 24531-1, with a double perforated safety step edge and bolt-on stringers with standard-compliant drill holes.
MEA’s high manufacturing quality guarantees optimal stability and load distribution. The filling bars of our MEASTEP steps are forced into the slotted load bars under pressure. The high pressure and the geometry of the slots in the load bars ensure an exceptionally sturdy, torsion-resistant grating. Both uniform and concentrated loads are optimally distributed owing to the crossed arrangement of the load and filling bars, which are force-fitted into one another under high pressure.
