Only at second glance does the great importance of gratings in the infrastructure of ports and container terminals become apparent. They are required and subject to heavy use for machine access, walkways, platforms and stairs. They must ensure occupational safety in all weathers and provide reliable, maintenance-free service for many years. Long-lasting security at economical conditions – that is our top priority. MEA Metal Applications, the specialist for grating solutions, has internalized these goals and has been a proven partner of steel fabricators for decades.
MEA welded gratings have a particularly strong, torsion-resistant and surface-flush grid structure. They therefore offer the greatest possible resistance and optimal load distribution. Depending on requirements, MEA supplies press-welded gratings that are ungalvanized or hot-dip galvanized in numerous sizes and made to measure according to customer specifications.
This also applies to non-slip gratings in accordance with BGR 181 and DIN 51130, which offer a particularly high level of slip resistance. Where special hygiene requirements must be met, MEA stainless steel gratings are used. They are manufactured in standard and special sizes from V2A or V4A stainless steel and are therefore particularly resistant to aggressive substances. If differences in height have to be safely bridged using stairs, the steps from the MEASTEP XSL range are convincing. They are suitable as escape stairs in accordance with DIN 1055-3 and for access to operational facilities in accordance with DIN 24531-1 and DIN EN ISO 14122-3. The range consists of steps, landings and intermediate landings, so that solutions are possible from a single source.
